ARCADIS AYH'S Emirates Stadium wins string of awards

Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, which ARCADIS AYH Plc sucessfully delivered on time and on budget, through their expert project management, cost consultancy and planning supervision, has been heralded as a masterpiece in a number of industry awards.  Recently winning the client commitment award at the BEX awards and the RICS Regeneration Award 2007, coming second overall, the Emirates stadium has helped to invigorate the built environment in a way that has enhanced the community of Islington.

Ian Smith, Chief Executive of ARCADIS AYH Plc comments: "The regeneration aspect of this project was a real draw for ARCADIS AYH, as we seek to focus on improving local areas for the communities in which we work.  The stadium will be a landmark for the Borough of Islington and will act as the community's focal point and enhance the townscape in which they live.  We are pleased to have been the driving force of such a prestigious project."

Building magazine also awarded Emirates with the Project of the Year Award 2007, which was described by judges as a "phenomenal project".  This year, the stadium has also been short listed for the RIBA Regional Awards 2007 where it has been short listed for Best Collaboration and the Best Use of Architectural Design

In 2006, the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, announced the winners of the fourth London Planning Awards and Arsenal's new home collected awards for 'Best Built Project Contributing to London's Future' as well as the Mayor's award for Planning Excellence.  This entry, titled 'Emirates Stadium/Arsenal on the Move', was praised for its success of planning a major development in a densely built-up area.  The Emirates stadium was also a finalist for QS Champion 2006 and won the Construction Excellence Award 2006 solely for the stadium roof structure

In addition to the planning of the state-of-the-art football stadium, ARCADIS AYH is also pleased to have contributed to the achievement of 'Best Mixed Use' scheme at the RICS Regeneration Awards in 2006.  ARCADIS AYH played a huge part in providing a dedicated team that has delivered an extensive programme of development spanning over 23 hectares, including the 60,000 seater stadium, 2,500 much needed new homes of which 25% will be affordable, a waste and recycling centre and a whole host of benefits and new facilities for the local area.
