The New Regulatory Reform (Fire Order) 2005 introduced in October 2006 brings vast changes to the way that fire safety is managed in the UK. Local fire authorities are now adopting an enforcement role and employers, building occupiers and organisations are required to appoint a responsible person with accountability for fire safety.
